She only moves when no one is looking
Corazón Negro is "black heart" in Spanish. A black sun hangs over the marsh. A drowned bride called La Novia is coming for a girl named Inés, and the only thing in her way is you. Keep your eyes on her, get close, and bind her in salt.
There's one monster and one line at the top of the screen that always tells you what to do. Play it with headphones if you can.
What you can play, and what we're dreaming of
We'd rather be straight with you. The full Corazón Negro is a longer night in a swamp shack in 1885. A folk surgeon works on your daughter while three things from behind the black sun, and a mob, come for her. That game is still ahead of us. The demo in Bangkok is the first piece of it, with just La Novia and the walk to the shack. We only had a few days to build it, so we kept it small and made sure it works.
The demo, step by step
| The story | Three painted pages: the black sun, the bride, and Inés. |
|---|---|
| The walk | Carry Inés across the marsh to the shack. Shoot a lantern to turn it up. La Novia lunges out of the reeds near the last pole. |
| The table | Ezequiel waits on the porch and tells you how it works: she moves when you look away. |
| The night | Three encounters. Binding her in time brings the dawn. Let her reach Inés and you lose. |
How you fight her
- A bullet cannot hurt her, but it holds her still for three seconds.
- Get close while you watch her, pour the salt, then hold the trigger and trace a star with the gun. One clean star binds her.
- Look away and she is suddenly right behind you. Sorry about that.
The demo runs about four to five minutes. Some of the rest of the night is already in the code, but we've switched it off for the show so the part you play is solid.
